Shick Ledge Free (SLF) Coupling

Shick's Ledge Free (SLF) Coupling is designed to eliminate the ledges in a tubular convey line connection that create product damage from impacting the ends of the tubular connections. In order to control the coupling alignment, SLF couplings have one half with a protrusion and the other half with a pocket for receiving the protrusion.

Bag Dump Station

Shick’s Bag Dump facilitates the addition of dry ingredients into a pneumatic convey line. The design includes a hopper with a gas spring assisted door that makes hand adding easier. An air-actuated cartridge filter sealing mechanism that is not exposed to the material contact area makes cartridge replacement fast, simple and tool free. The bag dump comes with an integral dust collection system with a fan that can be activated upon opening the door. The filter cleaning cycle directs captured material into the hopper for introduction into the transfer system. A removable air curtain directs air flow so dust is pulled away from the operator.

Shick’s Bottom Diverter Valves direct product into a vessel from a pneumatic convey line. Compressed air actuates the valve into the divert or through position. In the divert position, conveying air and product are directed into the vessel, where product is separated from the air stream as the air leaves through the exit port. In the through position, product and conveying air bypass the vessel. These valves come in cast iron, electroless nickel plated, 304 S/S or 316 S/S constructions and handle a maximum of 20 PSI in line pressure with an air supply of 80 to 100 PSI without lubrication.

Shick’s durable Rotary Valves are designed to meter a wide variety of dry, powdered, granulated or similar material into vacuum or pressurized pneumatic convey lines, as well as gravity applications. Rotary Valves are typically used at the discharge of bulk storage silos, bins, hand dumps, dust collectors or scaling hoppers. They are available in two configurations: airlocks (drop through) and feeders (blow through). Each product line comes in various materials of construction and is designed for a wide variety of applications. The airlocks and feeders are designed to handle a maximum pressure of 14.7 psig and maximum vacuum of 29 Hg. Close tolerances exceed NFPA standards for use as an isolation valve.

Shick’s Insertable Quick Change (IQC) Filter utilizes high-efficiency spun bond polyester filter elements with ePTFE membrane. The unit is ideal in areas with height restrictions and on top of use bins and silos to help keep your plant dust free. The unit’s filter elements have a 99.9%+ efficiency rating. Its compact design makes it ideal for silos, receivers, dust collectors and bin vents, a better alternative in comparison to traditional bag and cage filters. Change of filters occurs from the clean air plenum. This eliminates confined space permitting or entry procedures.

Liquid IBC Tote Stands

Shick’s Liquid Tote Systems store and transfer various liquid ingredients. The totes feed a reservoir where a pump draws ingredients and distributes them to one or more use points. When the tote is empty, the inline level switch sends a signal to a PLC or local indicator. The operator can replace the tote with a new one while the system continues to operate from the ingredients in the reservoir. Typical reservoir design provides additional changeover time without interrupting production.
